    Salmon Fishing in the Highlands.

By popular request, well two actualy,I have been asked to show a few pictures on salmon fishing in the Highlands. Some of you may know that I fell in the river a couple of nights ago and sadly I lost my wee camera and all the fishing pictures that I was hoping to do a bit of a feature with.So all we are left with are what I have already stored and maybe would not have normally seen the light of day.

A wee river where a 10ft trout rod will do.

    Ditto.

One in the net.About 8 pounds fresh from the sea.

About 12pounds not quite so fresh about to be returned to the river by the ghillie.

A bigger river. We use double handed fly rods about 15ft long.

    Into a fish.Ben Nevis above.

    My favorite pool.

We try to return most of the fish to the river, but this one was needed for a party.

As I look at the 9' six-weight rod in my closet that's never seen any use and long for that 8' four-weight that would be just about right for the rivers that I fish, you show us the 15' two hand number?

    Oy!

I guess it's the right tool for the job. Sorry about the camera, though, it's annoying as hell to loose anything in the water but a loosing a camera would make me blow my stack...you obviously have more self-restraint than I do.

Amazing! Beautiful looking water and great looking salmon! Up here its mostly west slope cutthroat trout, with a few rainbows, browns, and bull trout thrown in to keep it interesting.

I'd love to see more photos!

I'm not much of a fisherman but I can never get enough of the scenery. Be it live or memorex.

    Thanks for the pictures.
