The Saltire Flys over South Dakota - Mt Rushmore

Ships Log June 3, 2009: The wee ship was airlifted early in the morning to Rapid City, South Dakota on an MD-80. Arrived in rainy, chilly weather.

Ship's Log June 4, 2009: Today made a flight over the Black Hills to visit Mount Rushmore National Monument.

Before departing Rapid City, a visit to the Firehouse Brewery for lunch.

Wonderful photos good to see the wee airship flying off to national landmarks like that.

Great to see its still flying....thought the efforts had died off.

And it appears the Park Service got that big read tear off Lincoln's cheek that was added in the movie "Skins."

Ahh man... It's making me miss my birth state even more. I've been treating to use my airline vouchers to fly myself, my wife and my son up there and visit my father. We'd definitely have to stop by Mt. Rushmore as my wife and son has never seen it.

Thanks for bringing back the great memories.

Glad to see the little-ship is up and about again.

Fantastic pictures. Mt Rushmore is an amazing piece of artwork. Love the Saffron you're wearing too and as a slight aside, I do like the brickwork in the fire dept bldg.

    Great post, thanks.
