    The Saltire over South Dakota - Part II

    Ship's Log: June 5, 2009 - Transported by surface vehicle to South Dakota's Capital City, Pierre (pronounced peer)

    Ship's Log: June 6, 2009 - Low ceiling and low visibility, ship in hanger

    Ship's Log: June 7, 2009 - Visited Capitol Grounds and Bad Lands National Park

    The Saltire Visits the South Dakota Capitol


    The South Dakota Capitol Building was constructed in 1910 -- next year will be the centennial


    The South Dakota War Veterans' Memorial








    The fountain is a geothermal hot spring and feeds the lake. At one time natural gas came up with the water and provided a continual flame on top of the water -- "burning water."


    The Emergency Medical Services, Law Enforcement and Firefighters' Memorial


    Soldiers & Sailors World War Memorial - A museum
