Today Helen & I went to Selkirk to Visit The tartan factory of D.C.Dalgliesh. Thought you might like to see some pictures.
On the way to Selkirk.
We visited Sir Walter Scott's courtroom. In the old town hall
The Stock & cutting Room in the factory.
One of the looms.
Weaving the tartan.
One lady looking after two looms.
General view of the factory.
I have ordered a 9yd kilt in "Scotland the Brave" Tartan from them. Can't wait

Cool shots as a weaver I love to see how weaving is done commercially.

Excellent. I have a kilt at home whose tartan was woven on one of those looms.
Thanks David.

Wonderful pictures David, did they give you a discount because of your surname?

Excellent pics, David, I recognise that first view, just a few miles north of Hawick.
The photos from inside the tartan producers are very interesting indeed.
I've passed their premises a few times (just along the road from the new Lochcarron visitor centre in Selkirk) but haven't called in.
Congratulations on the new kilt; looking forward to seeing you in it once you receive it.
