    Southern Utah Pics

Was tooling around this weekend - out the Arizona Strip to get some delicious cheese, then laid over in St. George, Utah. Saturday went hiking out in Snow Canyon N.W. of St. George

Kilt is USA Kilts semi-trad in Caledonia tartan.

Today, it was such a beautiful day I headed home through Zion National Park. Traffic and road construction precluded any pics from in the park but on the way found a dirt side road with a sign that said "La Verkin Viewpoint."

Distant hills are the Dixie National Forest west of St. George.

Looking to the S.W. - if you can see a canyon that's the start of the Virgin River Canyon.

And, looking North. The high ground in the background is Zion National Park.

Kilt is USA Kilts semi-trad in Firefighter Memorial tartan.

Lovely pictures, as usual Ron. It has been too long since I found myself in those parts.

And if you're ever in the vicinity of Zion National Park for an overnight stay, I highly recommend the Desert Thistle Bed & Breakfast in Rockville.

I'd imagine a kilt would probably get you a discount with the Scottish proprietor.

That will happen when you drive through Rockville, if you even realize you drove through it!

Thanks for the great pics. I miss my hikes at Bryce Canyon and Arches. I'll look for you the next time I am out there.

Wonderful scenery. It is amazing how the world can still look good without trees. Here in New England we are well forested and I tend to swoon over lovely stands of fir and the seasons changing the views throug or of the trees. Then I look at scenes from the North American West or the Highlands of Scotland and WOW - If I live to be 1,000 I will still be amazed. Thanks for the photos.

    Great photos as always Ron!

As much as this ol' boy from the Pacific NW digs the scenery of home, I just love the colours of the desert southwest! Thanks for sharing your little piece of paradise!

Ron, every time I see your pics it brings me joy and sorrow. It is not easy to have two places your spirit is welded too (the Southwest and the TN/NC Appalachians), but at least I am in one of them all the time.
