Stirling Castle

I'm sitting here listening to Gaberlunzie's Brig o' Stirling, so why not some images of Stirling Castle?

This was taken from Ladysneuk Road, that leads to Cambuskenneth from the south side of Abbey Craig.

This was taken from atop Abbey Craig

Another from the lookout point on Abbey Craig, taking in the Forth Valley

Taken from atop the Wallace Monument

This was taken from Henderson Street in bridge of Allan, as I was tramping across to Stirling Uni to catch the bus. The castle seemed to be floating on the morning mists.

From the car park at the castle

The Wallace Monument, nicely framed, off in the distance

The Wallace Monument again, with the Ochils in the background

Looking up to the castle from the Bannockburn Monument

This one was taken from the "Old" Stirling Brig

This was taken from atop Alloa Tower

Waaay out there in the haze, you can just make out the castle, in the center of the photo. This one was taken from Gartmorn Dam, in Sauchie.

Awesome! What an excellent series of pics! I allways love to see pictures of castles that have been well preserved. Maybe one day I'll get to see some in real life.

I was hoping you would have some closer shots of the Wallace monument. I've only seen distance shots and I'm curious about it's construction. Looks like I'll have to wait for those, or go and see it myself!

Great pictures! I especially like the one with the fog between the castle and the trees.

STUNNING!
I really like the one of the castle floating on the morning mists (and no, not JUST because it was taken from Henderson street )
