Tarja Turunen at the Opera House
Last night we went to the Opera House to see Tarja Turunen it was a great show, we got there around 7:30 or so to find the line long but not too long, when they let us in just after 8:00 we made our way to the front where we stayed for the night. There were two opening bands Urn and The Eternal. It was around 11:00 before Tarja hit the stage, both opening bands were great but it was good when Tarja finally hit the stage. Her and her band then went on to play a blistering two hour show. The kilt got lots of comments all positive and though I was one of the oldest in the crowd, I felt like I was accepted kilt and all. Here are some photos.

I ended up taking off the long sleeve shirt and un-tucked the "Underwear?" shirt from Canadian Casual Kilts, I am also wearing my McPherson Red from Canadian Casual Kilts, I thought that the P.V. would be a good option in-case anything got spilled on me.
Here are some of the first band Urn:

From her homepage she looks like a very interesting performer. What type of music exactly does she do? The two band before her look very much like heavy metal, but her bio doesn't appear quite that way. She definately is easy on the eyes though.

She's part of a genre that is popularly known as Symphonic Metal. It's the combination of heavy metal and symphony/opera. She's incredible because she is a trained opera singer. She is of the caliber she could perform as the lead in the greatest opera's in the world.
She was the lead to Nightwish. She's one of my favorite singers. I also like that she doesn't use fowl language in her lyrics or in her concerts. I took the first picture the McMurdo posted. I got to spend some time at the stage. It was great. I loved it. My only regret is I don't have a digital SLR (a professional camera) yet.
