    Tartan Day in the Canyonlands

Off to work kilted. Sent out a broadcast email to fellow staff explaining the significance of the date. Shoulda done that last week...

Chose my hand sewn Leatherneck tartan kilt (13 ounce from Strathmore Mills hand sewn by Kathy Lare). Leather vest in lieu of a sporran. Lewis kilt hose and traditional garter ties from STM. Linen shirt. Was worried the linen and the wool wouldn't work, but they seemed to. No one ran from me screaming.

Light was kinda bad late in the day, but hey.

In the Canyonlands, the grass is never greener on the other side of the fence. That is of course, unless there is actually any grass on the other side of the fence.

    Ron,

You looked like a million bucks, wish I could have been kilted at work, might have helped to defeat the flying BS, etc...

Hey, even stayed kilted for my Home Group AA meeting tonight. Usual teasing, then a Navajo guy came up to me after the meeting and went on about how he used to work
construction and there was a guy there that always worked kilted. I asked him if it was a Utilikilt, and he said no, it was always a tartan kilt. Go figure. Maybe some of the Flagstaff guys know who he is. Navajo guy said he'd wear his tool belt over his tartan kilt.

So a fun Tartan Day for sure.

Nice look Ron. I like the way hose and vest balance the kilt.
