Those 8-yard Heavy Polyviscose kilts

Recently I posted pics of an 8-yard PV kilt which I had bought from Gold Brothers, in a modern fashion tartan called grey Hamilton.
At the price (under £30) I had assumed they were made in Pakistan so I was surprised to discover that they are made in Galashiels, Scotland by a company called Hamilton Products who advertise them on ebay as available "direct from our factory in Galashiels" (E-bay seller tartan54)

I bought another of these kilts in solid black. It arrived this morning and was immediately pressed into snow clearing duties, so that I can get Ann out from the house to the car and take her out for the day tomorrow.

I am impressed with the pleating of these kilts, with as many pleats as you get on a much more expensive kilt, so I immediately ordered a third one, this next one will be in Heritage of Scotland tartan.

Another view of the grey Hamilton for comparison.

So is this sorta like a USA Kilts semi-trad? Gotta save some money that the cloth and the sewing are all done in the UK.

That's a big surprise about them originating from Galashiels!

Hope Anne has a lovely day out tomorrow!
