    Tom Foolery

Just got back from the "Highland Fling" themed weekend at the Texas Renaissance festival and though I'd post a few pictures. We're not quite all dressed to a "tee" but we have a great time. I'll put a few more up later but I haven't gotten them back yet hehe. Look close.. a few of you might be there yourselves!

My crew, we've been enjoying festivals together now for about 6 years! Please excuse that my belted is climbing a bit.. happens to the best of us. I'll put up more as I get them back! Hope you enjoy and tell me what you think!

Thanks for the pics - was there many moons ago, brings back some memories. Was my first Ren Faire.

Those are some warm-looking cadadh you've got on. Did you make them?

I'm always impressed by the effort folks put into their Ren Faire activities. Cheers!

Funny thing about wool.. it breaths very well. The poor cadadh are handmade (something I felt was kinda obvious by my horrid tailoring skills hehe). I took some advice from a few of the felllows here on the X and turned out a pair using some wool fabric I'd picked up somewhere?. I've tried and tried to find some of the red and white checked cloth that I've seen in old paintings but can't for the life of me find anything that isn't A: Vinyl table cloth covering, or B: 1/8" in size
I'd definately advise anyone making their own to use some scrap cloth with the same properties before butchering some nice stuff like I did hehe. Thanks for all the kindness and..
P.S. One of the fine Gents here posted a pretty nice pattern that I believe his lady friend put together for him and they looked marvelous!

Probably about the right length there for fighting mode!

Love the pics and really good quality photo's.
