    Toronto Burns Nights

Just a few pics from the two Burns Nights I attended this year. Thanks to all who helped me sort out my formal wear

This one is my lass and I before we headed down to the Esplanade Fionn McCool's. Because of an earlier commitment, I got there rather late and missed the haggis, pipes, and poems. I was also told that the area where the SOKS were was full and ended up in a corner on the other side of the pub!

Then last night, I went to the 19th Annual McLaughlin College Burns Night. I entered a sonnet in the poetry competition and won a prize! I also finally got to have my haggis, tatties, and neeps. Also got a free Oban for wearing my kilt and to watch some Highland dancers: good times.

With the other prize winning poets. Notice the laurels on the first prize winner:

    Solo when I got home:

    P.S.

Apologies for the small number of photos. The other pics from Fionn MacCool's have a privacy-shy friend in them and the others from McLaughlin turned out blurry

Sorry we missed you at McCools, we had a nice time, they had some lovely haggis springrolls earlier as well. Met a couple new folks and some old friends, unfortunately we didn't get any pictures.

    Cheers

You both look a smashing couple in the first picture though you are very dapper at both gigs. I like the maple leaf Kilt pin. Any chance of a close up sometime?

No problem, here's your closeup. I got this on eBay and it arrived just in time for Burns Night. Vintage and silver plated means it is a little worn but I think that adds character. Also, I quite like how the pin is very 3 dimensional instead of just flat.

Laaaaverly!! Ebay is my downfall and I'm always on the hunt for pins.

Great photos, sorry we missed you at the Fionn McCool's Burns Night. I too like the kilt pin and have one similar on my Maple Leaf tartan kilt.
