    Turpin was back in Memphis

Beuth, Dirka & I had the privilege of hosting Turpin for another evening in downtown Memphis. After chatting awhile at the Flying Saucer we hit Beale Street. We had several folks wanting to take pictures with us. I finally wised up and turned my camera on. We soon met a couple from Wales. After talking for a bit we snapped this shot.

As we said our goodbyes Turpin managed to knock my beer out of my hand & onto the sidewalk. I did not think much about it. But he insisted on making up for it with a shot of Laphroaig at the Peabody Hotel bar. I kept saying “No, no , no. A thousand times ‘no’” He put me in a head lock and started twisting my arm until I agreed to have the Laphroaig. So off we went. There we met a very pretty lassie named Cassidi (or was it Cassadi or Cassidy) who wanted her picture taken with us. Being the gentlemen we are, of course we obliged.

Looking at the pics, I noticed something:
BOTH are wearing buchanan tartans, BUT notice how the sett lays in the kilt.
They are not quite the same.
    WHY??
Buchanan is not a repeated in a way that has the pattern pivoted on a stripe. Rather, it is repeated, in full, the same order. It is one of the odd tartans that do this.
Significance: It is NOT one of the tartans that can be bought in double width and cut/splice to make a kilt. You have to get the full length, and then have the material for 2 kilts. One would be like Dirk's and one Turpin's (only with exact matching colors and size).
    Just my observation.

Looks like you 2 are having a BLAST!!!

As much as Turpin travels the world in a Kilt, pretty soon Turpin is going to redefine "The question" from "What are you wearing under the kilt", to "Do you know Turpin?" He's on a one man crusade to promote Kilting. Way to go boys!

Good to see everyone had such a nice time.
Sadly, events keep conspiring against my return to join the fun.
