    Victoria Games and Freedom Kilts

Well, it was a beautiful morning as my darling wife and I set off for Vancouver Island on Friday. Not feeling anywhere near my now 50 years, we looked forward to meeting up with the Wizard of BC and the Kilted Knome for a weekend of all things celtic.

    At the ferry terminal.

On Friday night we went to Topaz Park to set up the Freedom Kilts tent.

A bit of a trying experience (due to the organizers lack of organization) but the Wizard just kept on smiling!

Saturday was a little on the quiet side but Sunday was a whole 'nother story.

I think there must be a union for these guys as I see at least one at every games

Here you see the Wizard in his IoS and his faithful manservant in the Blue Meanie.

The Third Laird of Lochaber in all his glory.

And the newest version of the world renowned Freedom Kilts slogan.

OOOOPPPSS! His Lairdship gets into a bit of trouble.

Unfortunately, Shelly and I had to leave before all the best began. The parade of clans and the massed bands were to go on about 12:30 but we had a ferry to catch. It was a very enjoyable weekend and a great way to mark my 50th birthday.

Thanks for sharing. That guy sure knew how to ruin a Modern Gunn tartan. Looks like he fell off the set of Xena or some such...

Wonderful pictures Mike I hope you had a good time, as for the poor unfortunate soul with the sword, at least he has good taste in tartan, shame he had todo that to it.

Must have been fun. Wish I had been there. Maybe next year I'll be on the West Coast of North America.
