    Victoria Memorial Service

Yesterday I went to a memorial service held at the provincial legislature to honour the 106 law enforcement officers who have died in the line of duty in British Columbia. There were three pipe bands, and officers from all over the province, Canada and the U.S.A. I even saw one French gendarme in uniform. Here are some pictures of the parade to the event and the march off afterwards. Too bad I can't give you the sound!
The Greater Victoria Police Pipe Band led the parade.

    Thanks for the pictures Macman.

A buddy went over to represent Customs. I was tempted to go with him for the day. Now I wish I had.

Wonderful pictures thanks for sharing them, wish I could have heard it as well.

She's in the second row in the first RCMP band picture and behind the flag in the second one. If anybody's asking...

Thanks Macman for the pictures. I believe I even recognize some of the pipers from the first picture.

Thanks for those pics. A proud salute on a somber occasion.

There's a similar memorial in Phoenix, Arizona for our state's fallen law enforcement officers. Sadly the list of names continues to grow.
