What does a cop wear to his retirement ceremony?

    Why a kilt of course.

This is Mickey and he was on his way to his retirement ceremony held at Government House.
Government House is the official residence of the Queens representative in British Columbia who is called the Lieutenant Governor.

    Mickey and his lovely wife.

    Himself with his kiltmaker.

He is wearing a Thompson Blue FK Tartan Model in 16oz Wool pleated to the Sett.

Those are lovely pictures, the Thompson blue looks great.

Steve - could you not have altered his jacket for him as well? Kilt looks great but the jacket seems too long.

I thought that, but didn't want to sound picky.
Perhaps the Police Uniform is not permitted to be tampered with?

The tunic is part of his normal uniform and cannot be changed, altered, or tampered with.
It took a special authorization to allow him to wear his kilt with uniform tunic in the first place.

OK, the tunic is too long. We left off the sporran, (He don't need no sporran, he has pockets.) and apparently all went well.

    A sharp look for sure!

See, you CAN wear flashes with boots. It can work.

Gonna tell my little brother about this. He's only a few years from retirement.

Looking good - thanks for the explanation about the jacket - I was about to say I thought it was too long.
