    What the Heck....Halloween

Sixty Three years olde olde olde and still dressing up for Halloween at work.

A tribute to Somerled and other Viking ancestors that once pilaged the Trotternish Peninsula of Skye.

Photog missed them but also had on "bison" colored Lewis hose and black traditional garter wrap thingie dealies. That's my brown leather Utilikilt.

One young new employee lass picked up a leather pleat to feel it and said, "This must have been expensive." Yup...it sure was but I love it and its already given me years of wear.

And no, them ain't ear rings. There's actually a chin strap deal...

Nice way to incorporate a kilt into your costume.

No, no, no. Vikings did NOT have horns on their helmets

Odin knows who started that nonsense in films and cartoons...

True, but it really has become the stereotypical image.

Horns on helmets would be very impractical. Helmets were usually designed to deflect a blow from a weapon. Why in the world would anyone want to put on something to catch the force of the blow?
