    where I went today

Today my beautiful wife and I went to the Sycamore Shoals Celtic Festival in Elizabethton, TN. We were sort of disappointed with it, although it was a beautiful day and we met some interesting people, one of whom gave me a hand-woven piece of tartan Carolina.
We returned home by a different route, and along the way found this big rock beside the road.

On the left of the big rock is a two-lane road, so you can get some idea of the size of this rock. For those of you who are familiar with western North Carolina (the greatest place on Earth), this is on Hwy. 221 north of Grandfather Mountain. If you can zoom in on the shot, you'll see my dandelion badge.

That's a cool rock, it looks like a cross between a lion and a seal. Thanks for sharing the photo.

Great photo. I miss Western North Carolina. It really is a wonderful place, not the least of which is that my lovely wife is from there.

Sorry you were disappointed. I had some MacLaren friends who were heading there for the weekend. He said that its a few clans, but lots of musical entertainment. I see you were wearing Barclay's sporran today.

I thought it looked like a rock. Nothing like a wee peeble like that to put us in perspective to our surroundings. You do look grand though.

That's huge! Would be interesting to know what mountain it toppled down from.

I think it rather looks like a mole who's lost her snout.
