World Pipe Band Championships 2009 in Glasgow!

Hi guys! I was at the World Pipe Band Championships today... was a great day despite Glasgow Green turning into one big piece of mud!
Luckily I had my mini wellies on (Green waterproof Nike Dunks) which NEVER stay dirty

    so on with the pictures:

P.S. some are datestamped and some arent because I kept fiddling about with my new camera!

    Someone said MUD?

    Laura breavely walking through it!

There were lots of pipe bands randomly practicing

Then we got a seat at arena 3 and waited on some pipe bands coming on. Here's some randomers walking past as it started to rain.

It is in truth not for glory, nor riches, nor honours that we are fighting, but for freedom -- for that alone, which no honest man gives up but with life itself.

then we headed away from the arena and had a wee walk about...

Here's a shot of the grade 1 arena. You couldnt even get close if you hadnt been standing there since 10am!

then we watched some more grade 1 bands practice.

    and found some try land!

and knew Jimmy would be about so I gave him a text and we had a meet up and a good chat. He also bought me a lager... cheers Jimmy!

and finally one last shot of the grade 1 arena before we left:
