# 13 Has Arrived! / review "the works"

#13 Has Arrived! The gf gave it to me today! It is Sport Kilt in the Irisher tartan. Love the tartan! The kilt well you decide.......

2 buckles with very thin leather staps. Yes 2. Velcro closure and elastic waist.
What the heck you'll never see the elastic part with a belt on

Belt loops 5 of them , I kid you not! Seem to be sewn well.

Pleats, yechh.. 14 ah mann Yep 14 My stillwater standard has over 20. Even the gf noticed them right off.

Fringe is single row and the apron is a little small.

The fabric feels good but, really light. Figured this was going to happen. This will be great in the summer.

The comfort level is way up on this one. I will wear this often.

Cost about 150 include tax and shipping. Honestly I expected more Stillwater rocks at the economy level. You could buy 3 at this price.

Thanks for the review Michael!

I think that the convenience of the velcro would be cancelled out by the straps. I love my olive drab Sport Kilt and will likely pick up a tartan one for summer.

Cheers

My first Kilt was a Sportkilt. I did find that I was pretty happy with it until I got my first Stillwater. As you said it is a pretty good Summertime kilt, and they are great for wearing around the house and for yardwork. I am jealous about #13 though. I have 5 now but plan to expand this year.

Speaking of two straps, my SWK saffron in a 36 waist was too tight in the hip. I finally removed the hip strap and buckle, and it makes a huge differerence in the comfort and how it hangs. Both Barb T and Matt Newsome resommend no hip strap. i may just remove them from my other kilts.
