Don't overlook the replica wool battlejackets and Ike jackets What Price Glory offers, they go well with kilts.
Here's the enlisted Ike jacket. I added the insignia in honor of my late Uncle, they come plain. They are lined and toasty. Also have the officers Ike jacket and the RAF Battlejacket.
Okay, here's a pic of the RAF battlejacket.
Again, insignia was added to honor my late father's RAF service. The battlejacket comes plain....and in large enough sizes to fit well fed guys like me.

Does WPG cut excess material of their pleats off around the waist to get ride of bulk?

I've had a WPG MacKenzie for two winters now and it is great. Heavyweight wool, high waisted, and military box pleats are just what's needed for frosty to really cool weather. I've worn mine out when it is below zero F and am fine along with other provisions such as proper socks/hose, poly-pro or SmartWool boxers, hat and gloves. It blocks the wind also due to the dense fabric and consider it a great buy and price for what you get. I may get another in the future.

From all the reviews and pictures I've seen of the WPG kilts I just don't get how they can charge so little for them. They are beautiful, very heavy wool 8 yd. traditional kilts. And they are consistantly given high marks by the savvy members here. What's their secret?

I bought the Gordon kilt. It's very nice, well put together. The wool is rougher than material from other mills. Made in Pakistan, right? Anyways, it fits very well for not being a fitted garment. I like it, and I'll be wearing it a lot in the winter I'm sure.
