| | | 22nd Century kilts
What innovations do you think will have befallen kilts by the 22nd Century?
Here are a few possibilities:
1. Bendable screens woven into material so that you can do your banking, watch telly, surf the net etc. on your kilt!
2. Indestructible kilts made of coloured carbon nano tubes!
Cheers

I like it! But, that'll rip the guts out of the handmade market! Mind, I suppose you could pay for downloadble tartans a bit like downloadable music??

Probably will be stuff like that. But methinks there will also be the same old traditional kilt that's been around for hundreds of years already - guessing the kilt as we know it has a few more hundred years in it. Hard to beat FREEDOM and common sense.

They will have the ability to become a 16oz Heavyweight or a 11oz lightweight with just a thought, so that you can wear it in the summer or the winter. |

In a science fiction story by Robert Heinlein they have kilts (and other clothes) available to purchase at kiosks all over.
You just punch in your dimensions, select the style of clothing, color, etc... pay your money and it weaves and sews it in minutes for your approval.

Or maybe, by the 22nd Century common sense will have prevailed and mankind will accept our bodies as our Creator made them and there will be no further need for the textile industry. In an effort to stop the ice from melting we'll return to dressing in the convenience of the Garden of Eden....without shame. There will be museums displaying the clothing mankind once wore. People will visit and giggle at the insanity of it all.

Kilt with a Tartan selection button on the side-Push to change tartan.
Heat and Air selection switch built right in.
Expand and contract kilts for those winter holiday feasts.
