a $26 kilt?
Something interesting in the Want Ads for the Asheville Citizen-Times: a poly-rayon kilt for $US25.98. If this link doesn't work, search for kilt.
Garish color, probably thin and flyaway, but for $26 (plus s/h) it will probably work for cleaning out the garage.

So, is it the fact that the guy in the picture is not wearing socks/hose, or just that his legs are too scrawny for the boots to close around that makes it look so weird?

BTW- interesting looking kilt, the zipper on the front is kind of odd to my eyes though. The snaps and things don't seem that much out of place after seeing the Utilikilt designs, but the zipper just stands out....

My wife and I saw a guy wearing one of those “things” on St. Patrick’s Day this year at the Flogging Molly concert. All we could do was laugh at the poor guy because it looked so silly. I bet he thought that he looked cool in his outfit, but actually I felt bad him. There has to be something better looking out there than that beach towel on acid. In my opinion, please put your $26 in the bank and save up for the real thing.

In my opinion, please put your $26 in the bank and save up for the real thing.

What qualifies it as a kilt anyway? Not a real tartan and no pleats. Definitely a skirt and not a very attractive one at that.

Guys, lets not open this can of worms. The Tripp Kilt may not be your (or my) style, but there is really nothing to be gained by trashing it. It does in fact have pleats. Some forumites own one, or have younger family members that do.
Gauranga, some of the biggest meltdowns on this forum have been over the definition of the kilt. If you wish to explore the issue, I advise using the search feature, or send me a pm, and I'll provide a link to one such 13-page thread that was eventually locked down.
