Hi All,
Well I'm just recovering from drowning my sorrows and I'll be off to work in a minute so here goes, ENGLAND LOST TO FRANCE, oh good lord that was hard, the sheer ignominy of it, the sorrow, the shame of all the countries to lose to.........

But remember. They are still World Champions. They can't win everything all the time.

Re the Saltire kilt, I came across one displayed in a kilt retailer’s in a small town in Angus. The short white lines which make up the Saltire are woven into the material – presumably the loom is computer-controlled to get the spacing accurate – and when correctly made up with 29 pleats the Saltire “appears”. Unfortunately I was a bit pushed for time and forgot to find out whether the kilt was made of a single 8 yard piece, so the weaving sequence would run ordinary sett for 1st front panel/special sett for pleating/ordinary sett for 2nd front panel, or 3 separate pieces of 2 ordinary setts for the front panels and the special sett for pleating joined together.

Firstly, I was able to confirm with her that their 'Saltire' kilt is, indeed, the one that Darius wore when he sang "Flower of Scotland" prior to the Rugby International ten days ago.
I also ascertained that the Saltire design is woven into the fabric and is not 'printed' or 'stencilled'. It appears only on the facing side of each pleat - not on the hidden or in side.
The Company has taken over 350 orders for this kilt in just over one week! The price is £365 (approximately US$672) ........... I am currently debating as to whether I should order one for my collection.
