    Happy St.Andrews day

Yes, we are already there, the rest of you will have to wait

Final preparations today for tonight's function at our place. Sadly the weather is not the best for an outdoor function, we may have to move inside.

    I'll post some piccies later.

Looking forward to the pics! Blessed St. Andrew's Day. I'll be celebrating here at church with the first midweek Advent service. No kilt until I get home.

    St. Andrew's Day...

For those wishing to know more about St. Andrew, the Patron Saint of Scotland, the Edinburgh Library has a nice web page to peruse:

    http://www.edinburgh.gov.uk/librarie.../standrew.html

And, a wee article to peruse as well:

    http://www.scotshistoryonline.co.uk/...e/saltire.html

Scotland shares St. Andrew as a patron with Russia and Greece, and the Saltire, or St. Andrew's Cross, is also displayed upon the Russian Naval Jack.

Wishing everyone a very blessed St. Andrew's Day!

I plan to wear my kilt to work (it's one of the few days I get to, St. Andrews day being a cultural/heritage event and all ). The store has hired another kilt wearer so I've been encouraging him to wear his also (actually his kilt was inherited from his grandfather).

You might have started ahead of us Gray, but we'll still be going when you're all tuckered out! :-D

And to you as well sir! I am planning on getting especially well kilted and attired tomorrow to celebrate the day. And the people in the class I am attending will bow down in awe at my magnificence!

Saint Andrew was remown for being able to see the good in people and potential, he found the young man with loaves and fishes that led to Jesus to perform a famous miricle, that we still talk about 2000 years ago later.

being able to see the good in people and the potential that people hold, especially young people, is someting I will bear in mind this saint Andrews day.

To my fellow Scots, cousins of Scots descent around the world, and to everyone with an interest in all things "Scottish" I raise my glass and wish you and your family happiness and long life.

    O Flower of Scotland,
    When will we see
    Your like again,
    That fought and died for,
Your wee bit Hill and Glen,
    And stood against him,
    Proud Edward's Army,
    And sent him homeward,
    Tae think again.
    The Hills are bare now,
    And Autumn leaves
    lie thick and still,
O'er land that is lost now,
    Which those so dearly held,
    That stood against him,
    Proud Edward's Army,
    And sent him homeward,
    Tae think again.

    Those days are past now,
    And in the past
    they must remain,
But we can still rise now,
    And be the nation again,
    That stood against him,
    Proud Edward's Army,
    And sent him homeward,
    Tae think again.

    0 Flower of Scotland,
    When will we see
    your like again,
    That fought and died for,
Your wee bit Hill and Glen,
    And stood against him,

    And sent him homeward,

Happy St. Andrew's Day to all.

I have several errands to run between work and home, and I had decided today that I would do them kilted. So, brought my kilt to work so I could change, and realized as I was getting to my desk that today is St. Andrew's Day.

That's a great coincidence in my book, and surely a sign that I need to keep kilting.

    Hope everyone's day goes well.

    Aye,

Me hopes St. Andy don't mind that I wear a Utilikilt today (black workman's).

Have a long drive up the mountain to Flagstaff this afternoon.

Much joy for those of you that have a window of kilt wearing at work for this holiday. Hope you put a little extra swish in your pleats today.
