Another kilted day at work, Part II

Thursday, May 21st, is World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development. Last week, everyone at my office got an e-mail stating that we were all welcome -- encouraged, even -- to decorate our workspace or office door that week in a way that reflects our heritage or culture. Then, on Thursday, anyone who wants to can wear clothing traditional to their culture or heritage.

"Cool!" I thought. "What shirt can I wear with my Black Stewart? Or maybe my new USAK casual in American Heritage will be here by then!"

What's nice is, later I was told by my supervisor that one reason the idea of dressing for the day came up was because I looked so sharp in my kilt and Argyll on Tartan Day, and other staff spoke so positively about it.

Score another one for the good guys!

May 21st eh? Maybe that'll get a few kilts out of the closet and into the workplace.

Take your kilt to work day.

    Love it!

    Well done!

Very nice. I wonder if I can convince my boss to me let me wear my kilt on that day...worth a shot.

It's good to know that your kilt had a positive influence on your co-workers and it was recognized. I think that most of the guys at my work have become rather accepting of my kilt. If anything, it is just more proof for them that I am weird.
