    Antici...

    pation!

I'm wondering what the longest anticipation period people've had is, from first payment on a kilt until it arrives on their doorstep?

I've just sent Matt Newsome my first payment on a box-pleat -- I'm a student, and paying on the installment plan. It'll be at least a couple of months before the cloth is even woven! Then the time to make the kilt, the shipping time... I'm just curious if I'm even in the running for the record.

I think the longest i've waited was about a month and a half, so looks like your "winning" so far. Which I'm not sure if that's a good thing or not. This is one competition I don't think i'd want to win. What tartan did you order?

Four months from order to receipt. I won't mention the kiltmaker's name though, as it wasn't their fault. It took longer than expected to get the cloth from the mill. Once the material was received, the kilt was finished promptly.

2 months on my Gordon Dress, but it was well worth the wait because it is 1) my clan tartan, 2) my favorite tartan, 3) my most frequently worn kilt, and 4) my highest quality kilt.

    Heh ...
4 months for the weaving, 2 1/2 months for the making, and 4 days because the FedEx driver didn't drop it at the apartment office like he was supposed to.

    Worth every second.
I am easily moved for sympathy for dogs, far more so than for humans, because dogs do not understand. There is no way to explain that you will return, that the vet will make it all better, that they cannot go shooting today because that is not what today is about. They cannot work out that their misery is finite and will some time end, and so their misery is magnified.

All I have a cheap kilts at the moment so my longest wait was about 3 days . It took 2 weeks for my son's kilt to come in though. This fall I will be getting a good American National tartan kilt and I expect a long wait.

So far my longest wait would be around 10 or 11 weeks, it was worth the wait as I truly love the kilt, but that wait is nothing. I know someone who has been waiting close to 3 years.
