Not exactly a Celtic music event, so feel free to move this where it belongs. I'll be there, and kilted! If you're going, wear a kilt and say hello. For those who are unfamiliar, Falcon Ridge Folk Festival is a wonderful gathering up in the Hudson Valley, held next weekend (7/23-25), featuring music, a dance tent (everything from squares and contras to zydeco and swing), showcase stages, family stages, camping, great food, and song circles that go into the wee hours.

I've worn a kilt the past few years and always get a overwhelmingly positive response. There have been a few others in kilts from time to time, and an astounding array of other, less orthodox garments as well. Suffice it to say there were other men's unbifurcated garments of various lengths and weights. Last year after walking by several gentlemen attired in such garb, I was approached by a woman who pointed at my kilt and said to her companion, "See - he's doing it RIGHT!" Always a pleasure to share the power of the kilt.

See you there!
