Exclamation Argyll hose - foldover. need help

    Hello all!

Today Valeria posted in the newbie forum about how she was going to knit argyll hose for a certain Dutch person from Groningen. guess who (me!)

To get us started, I would like to ask you all to post ANY argyll hose pictures you have, but what I would most like, it a photo of the hose without the top folder over, so we can see how that's made. also we wish to know how many times you fold it over. I thought that'd be just one foldover.

Please dump any other pictures of argyll hose here as well!

Thank you kindly for your time and effort!

    Daniel

Yes, just once. Also try and get the various lines to match up a bit better than in the photo.

    Hi All,

I understand the theory, the folding over once - BUT - well see for yourselves. These are a recent acquisition, pair of hose from the Black Watch. When I fold them down, there is an extra area which doesn't match up.

    Top folded up -

    Top folded down -

So what is happening with these? And how am i supposed to line them up?

    Regards

    Chas

    Here are mine:

With the matching kilt, cuffs folded down

    With the cuff unfolded

    With the cuff half-folded

Here are mine, but I don't have photos of the underside of the cuff readily available.

Remember, though, I think these are individually crafted, but not exactly hand-knit.

    Regards,
    Rex.
