    Back in the Saddle Again...

Today, after fourteen weeks in pants at work, I returned to my workplace kilted.

I wore a black banded collar shirt with my USA Kilts saffron semi-trad, SWK black nightstalker sporran with leather strap, pushed down black soccer sox, and black Z Coil shoes.

Worked a 12 hour day today catching up. Did not receive a single comment about my being kilted. Spoke with the CEO - no comment. Made a presentation to coworkers in staffing - no comment. Interacted with other managers - no comment. Saw four clients individually and thirteen in group tonight - no comment.

Even stopping off at tourist filled Safeway tonight on the way home - no comment.

A non-issue now. I do love it. The comfort is back.

I must have missed a thread. Why were you in pants for fourteen weeks?

    Riverkilt,

Patience has paid off. I hope that those who had made it an issue have truly realized the error of their ways. Congratulations on a smooth transition back into the comfort zone.

Ron,that is just wonderful news, glad to hear it. It is to my mind curious that there were no comments from anyone, but I think it bodes well for your continued success.

Rarely are there comments in my office anymore, however last week, one of my colleagues told me that someone else asked her when they would see me in pants again. My response was that they should be asking me that question, until they do ask me I will try to ignore it.

Congratulations. I have not been kilted for that long but dread o' trousers keeps me from taking higher paying job offers. Cannot imagine how I could have reacted as gracefully and maturely as you did to your situation.

Well done and welcome back to freedom!

Ron - all good things come to those who wait. You have put up with what must have been an annoying and frustrating time with patience and humor. While I realize that these traits are probably necessary for your job, you must at times have been pushed to your limit.

You are a role model and ambassador for the rest of us.
