A box from Keltoi Gaelic Clothing.. Woooohooooo!

Yesterday, I had a package waiting for me at the post office, from John Hart, at Keltoi Gaelic Clothing. I was expecting my new kilt, a hand sewn, 16oz Saffron, 4 yd box pleat kilt.. I was very pleased with the packaging, the kilt was rolled, not folded, it came wrapped up in a garment bag, with a few added accessories.

I pulled the kilt out of the bag, and I was again, impressed with John's workmanship.

John shipped my kilt with 4 rows of basting stitches. As I look the kilt over, I notice the little details. The label sewn into the kilt, lists all pertenant information... Size, serial number, tartan, fabric, and weaver.. I had asked for two straps, black liner, no fringe, and sporran loops only. The kilt was made as requested.. The sporran loops are made about an inch and a quarter long. John also added hanging loops inside the kilt.. a nice touch.

The fit of the kilt is great! It hangs great... And the Marton Mills Jura feels great... John suggested this option, saying it's probably the best value for my money... and I am glad I followed his advice. John had told me, he found a slight flaw in the fabric and it happened to fall on the back side of the material, to be unseen by the eye.. But because John knew it was there.. He not only told me, but slipped a little something in the box... Which was a nice jesture. John included flashes with garters, and a square that is fringed on all four sides, to use as a tartan flash for my headgear.

I do not have any pictures yet, of me wearing it.. It's been raining a bit, and muddy outside, and my girlfriend has not been able to stop by to take my pictures.. Hopefully she will stop by tomorrow, and I will post them, then.

I feel my experience with John, and Keltoi Gaelic Clothing, as a very positive one. John's customer service is top notch, keeping in contact with me, letting me be aware of every step in the process. His workmanship is top notch, I am very pleased with my kilt. I would wholeheartedly recremend John Hart to anyone who is looking for a handsewn kilt.. He offers many different pleating options, from the 4 yd box pleat, to the 8 yd military box pleat, and everything in between. John offers something for everyone...check out Keltoi Gaelic Clothing website... and browse around... Plenty to see and good reading, too.

Congratulations! I really like the look of a saffron kilt. And, it sounds like you got a great deal.

I am glad for you to hear that everything has worked out well working with John. I am also glad for myself since I just last week ordered one for myself from him tha now sits in the queue some couple months behind yours, but with yours gone that is one less ahead of me.

I have heard nothing but good things about John (our own resident "Slohairt", expert on all names gaelic or even remotely gaelic), and so far he has been great to work with. I wish you well with your new kilt and goodies, and eagerlay await the pictures of you wearing it.
