    Bright Beautiful Beefy Bargain Buy

I forgot I even won this bid, but now am glad I did. This one arrived today and I wasn't expecting anything. I thought from the picture and description that it was kind of a cheap wool bar kilt (the auction pictures were awful). I couldn't figure out what would be so heavy in the UPS box. So I opened it and this is what I found.

$14.99 kilt $10 shipping and it goes with my England World Cup Rugby shirt (wait it gets better)

Remember I said the box was heavy, 4 pounds of beautiful heavy, handsewn, worsted wool,

Looked on the Strathmore site and it appears to be the their heaviest W100 tartan fabric.

Someone had changed out the top two straps for some about 8 inches long and carfully moved the buckles. It's a little too big but I'll do some buckle repositioning and it should be very good. It will be good for an evening of feasting and drinking. Maybe a Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner kilt.

I would have never paid the hefty price for a Royal Stewart but this gives me a warm fuzzy feeling, knowing that I paid about what half a yard of tartan would have cost. I probably paid less than the shipping charge would have been.

Up to 10 kilts and 2 pair of trews. Does it ever end? O'Neille

Could you post a link to the auction? I do a daily search for Stewart kilts, but missed that one (lucky for you).

You don't half find 'em, do you?

I was never a fan of RS either, but I must admit that kilt suits you very well. Quite striking. Should be just right for festive revelling!

Never been very big on the RS myself either. But, worsted wool at that price??

that was a GREAT find... that kilt would probably retail for $500 to $600 (depending on who was selling it) if it were made to mearure for you!
