    Burnett and Struth CMT

Burnett and Struth have something that I think they call CMT. Basically, if you provide the fabric they make it into a kilt for $ 161 (Canadian), as I understand it. This seems very cheap for what it entails. I wonder if anyone here has tried it?

I don't have fabric at present, but there are a few special weave tartans that I covet. No point buying any without a plan as to how to get it made up into a kilt, as I see it.

I may have to look into that myself. I have one of their kilts and I really like it.

Good price for the labor to make a kilt from a [piece of fabric, but I believe that is a machine sewn rather than handsewn kilt. No experience with that particular product, but do have a very nice casual kilt from them that I like well. Nice folks to deal with too.

You might consider contacting kiltmaker Bonnie Heather (that is her handle here on xmarks) who will quote you a price for a handsewn that is probably only a bit more, but great handsewn quality workmanship. Ans she is here in the states so no issues about customs crossing borders and such. She did a great kilt for me and will likely be doing another when I get around to sending her some more fabric.
