Decent ones are half the price! And, a couple months ago, my rimless "popped", hit the tiled floor, and rolled down a flight of stairs, with not a scratch!

    Tough Luck.
The frames were about 4 years old and were already in bad condition as they were sat on by my nephew at Christmas one year. Shattered may have been an overstatement but pretty much the split down the middle and it would take a welding job to get them abck together. I brought them into the office to see if I could find someone at lunch to repair them and everyone suggested getting a new pair...

    Sigh....bye bye kilt suit....hello eyes....

I, too, am blind without correction, & I wear glasses & contacts (no, not at the same time! ).

You might try this program to get good discounts on your frames & lenses:

I might look like I'm doing nothing, but at the cellular level I'm really quite busy.

Geez, I always get the 2-4-1 deal with cheap frames. $75 with bi-focals. Got a pair for home and a pair for work.

I'm the same way- blind without them and laser surgery is not an option. I keep spares at home, work and in my truck.

Well maybe I'll get lucky and get the glasses at a good price. Because I'm blind as a bat, I need thin line frames otherwise I get headaches from how heavy my glasses are....that's always a cost booster....

At the very least, I should be able to check off at least 2 kilts on my wish list -- the Braveheart kilt from Celtic Croft and one of Matt's great creations (when I find the right fabric of course!).....

Makes me glad i have health cover for things like glasses, teeth, physio etc.
I often loose glasses, it costs me almost nothing to replace them.
