    Completely Exhausted

After we had loaded our musical equipment into my friends car to go to a gig the other evening, I was standing chatting to a few other friends and band members at the back of the car when my pal started the engine. I was stood right by the exhaust pipe. There was a sudden rush of air and smoke that went straight under and up my kilt. As he pulled away to park in another spot I stood there with all this smoke and exhaust fumes coming down from my kilt. Everybody, including myself were in hysterics. It was a gem at the time. Unfortunately no one had a camera handy to capture the moment.
Today the wife and myself and all the band members and their families are going out to Sunday lunch in a nice country pub we know on the outskirts of the city. I have been there dozens of times. Its inhabited mainly by really well off and well to do folk, who seem to like letting the world know they are. I'm expecting some snide comments and looks about my kilt.
Will let you know the outcome when I return later.

I haven't written yet about the warm air that rises up from the below-ground ducting around the libraries on campus. I occasionally walk over them...Kind of nice in the winter, anyway.

    Have a nice lunch, anyway.

    Derek,

You really do have some great experiences. I can just imagine the exhaust bellowing out from under the kilt. I too have experienced that thrill the same way Alan has, always good for a chuckle!

Have fun at lunch, and am looking forward to another fine experience.

well there's a new slant on "what's under the kilt?" still, not as bad as dogs with cold wet noses

Well ... we went to the pub for dinner. There were a couple of double takes from a few groups of guys stood at the bar and only one chap said anything and that was 'you got more nerve than me'. Other than that we all had a great time. We took some guitars with us and after we finished eating started up singing some songs. In fairness the whole pub started to join in and we got a nice little folk club going for an hour.

Oh yes music to soothe the savage baest, or in your case Derek, the well fed patrons.

    Well done!
