    A couple pics

First one is from the USS Intrepid for Pipefest 2010. It's my Cty Roscommon Kilt. Since I was runnign through NYC, I figured I would wear comfortable shoes as opposed to the broghues. I all the way to the right... very casual as far as pipers go !

Second is from this Saturday when we played for the 9/11 Ceremony in my hometown. I am at the front (again to your right) because I played the solo in Amazing Grace.

luckily, I have been losing weight... 15 lbs this month... so hopefully each new picture will be less and less of me! hahahaha

I was planning on just going 'casual'. The guy behind me (and the next 5) are from my band as well. I was elected PM when everyone had a bit of stage fright, but that's ok. The second picture is a band function, so I was in uniform.

Great pictures. Love the saffron kilts. But what color are the flashes? They look like multi-color flashes.

Very nice photo's. Actually, I really didn't notice anything "wrong" with the first photo. When different groups are together, it is easier to "blend in".

I can answer that, those are the tri-color flashes of the Irish flag.
I got mine at Henderson Group and their service was great.

Indeed you are correct... the tri-color that should also match the hackles. Unfortunately I left mine in the back window of my car for a stretch of time.. and now it's a bit faded... time for a new one!

And thanks... it's been a while since I focused on getting healthier.. and it's paying off... Wonder what I will look like what 240 (or less) in a kilt...

    Great stuff!
"Before two notes of the theme were played, Colin knew it was Patrick Mor MacCrimmon's 'Lament for the Children'...Sad seven times--ah, Patrick MacCrimmon of the seven dead sons....'It's a hard tune, that', said old Angus. Hard on the piper; hard on them all; hard on the world." Butcher's Broom, by Neil Gunn, 1994 Walker & Co, NY, p. 397-8.
