I can't tell from the photo. If you could post a photo with it laying flat showing the tartan, I'm sure someone here will know. From my laptop it could be several including a MacDonald modern.

the hose are being worn by Matt Newsome-they may be available at
www.scottishtartans.org or you can email Matt and ask.

Incidentally, are you not supposed to fold the hose top down with garter ties like you do with flashes?

I didn't realize the proper term was "castelated" (thank you, Big Mikey!), but the few pictures I've seen of them show them worn unfolded, too.

Not those kind. The tops (I forget their name) are meant to be worn up because they are fancy...or something like that.

I see, 'normal' hose tops would be folded down over the garters, then (with the exception of the ends)

Back to the regularly scheduled topic-what tartan is the gentleman wearing?

Here is the review of the hose
    http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/s...x.html?t=47597

They are Castleated Hose and should be worn the way Matt is wearing them.

Hard to see the details of the tartan from the small picture, butif you don't think it's a Lindsay try checking either Kerr or Stewart of Atholl. Could be either of those.

Oh, and yes, those are my hose. Yes, they are castellated tops and not worn folded down. I got them from Skye Highland Outfitters, and the review is linked to. :-)
