Cycling along in my usual nonchalant way yesterday, I got shouted at by an irate motorist; he thought that roads were reserved either for trouser-wearers, or for French nationals, not sure which.
"Keep to the right (side of the road) in this country, you ***!"

The French around Grenoble and there-abouts are some of the most courteous people in France, I should know, I've been there many's the time...in troosers...I'll take my kilt next year.
Though I do think "Keep to the right (side of the road) in this country, you ***!" was a bit below the belt.
Anywho, Colins idea was a good one.
The Irish gave the Scots the bagpipes as a joke, the Scots still haven't got the joke.

Oh, I agree, there are some wonderful people in France- I must say that the folk in the countryside were always warm and welcoming. But I met some of the most arrogant SOBs in the world in Paris…
That said, I'd love to visit again, especially the Bordeaux area!

How soon they forget.
The late father of a local friend of mine, Teddy Goldtooth, came ashore on Utah Beach with the 4th Combat Engineers. This Navajo from Arizona spent weeks on the front lines blowing things up so the infantry could get through.
I wonder how that motorist would have treated him.
