    Smile Doing my civic duty

As the Canadian membership is well aware, today is Federal Election day in Canada. Time to get out and vote for your favorite party. Btw...if they're called a "party", why is it that they look so darn serious all the time?

Anyway, my wife and I just got back from the polling station. I wore my new Hunting McLeod SWK, t-shirt, pushed down socks, and my black boots. Basically the exact combination I'm wearing in the pic I posted last week. The place was quite empty at this time of day, aside from the polling station volunteers. You could almost hear the neck muscles snap as every head swivelled around to check out the "guy in a kilt" when we walked in.

Our polling booth was staffed by two attractive young women. As we walked up one of them started gushing about my kilt! She said her husband wore one when they got married, and that they had a piper and the whole bit. The other lady started asking questions about the kilt...why I wear it, what was the funny little thing in the front ;) (sporran), was it comfortable...etc. They thought it was cool, and said they wished more guys would wear them. All in all a GREAT experience!

I hit the advanced polls last week. To remain civil, I will keep my opinions of the political landscape of Canada to myself right now ;-)

No matter how bad it is there, it can't possibly be as bad as it is here.

I guess it all depends on your opinion of today's predicted winner.

Heck, practically every election winds up being the choice of what you consider the lesser of two evils anyway. And that is as political as I'll get here on the forum.;-)

That is why I didn't mention my political leanings. ;-)

You know how to tell when a politician is lying to you?

Great that your SWK got the attention of the ladies! As for the politcal part, I don't know if you get bombarded by television comercials up there where the candidates take pot shots at one another. We get them down here in the states, and after about a month of watching them I wish the ballots contained a field for voting for "none of the above."

That pretty much sums up how this election campaign went. I wish they wouldn't use negative ads. I know what the other guys have done, I want to know what YOU plan to do. LOL

And as Cavscout pointed out...if ya don't vote, ya can't gripe about the fools in office!
