    Dueling Navies

    Hálo Gents,
Question: Is it considered a faux pas to have slightly differing Navy kilt jacket and Vest? I'm talking ever so slight... Jacket is more black navy than the vest...

Well, I think it should either match, or be far enough from a match (completely different color or shade) so that it doesn't look like a mistake. Even if no one says anything, you'll spend the evening knowing you are trying to pass off something that's not quite right, and hoping no one else notices.

That's my complete 2 cents on it

Depends on the venue. Bright sunshine, flashbulbs on the red carpet, glitterball above the dance floor = faux pas.

Am I right in thinking that they are both navy but not from same batch of cloth/different supplier and were purchased separately? Maybe a photo taken in daylight so we can judge better.

I think you'll be alright. If anybody gives you any grief about it, show them your tattoo.
