This was sent to me from someone my brother knows on my facebook account

Glen, I saw the picture. Nice skirt, but what would Scott say?
It's Denise Badley. Hope all is going well for both of you.
Take care

Below is my reply:

He knows all about it, but I really must correct you, it is a KILT not a skirt I thought you would know that perhaps I gave you too much credit.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So my question is how would you deal with this?

I'd keep it light and ask him why he's searching the internet for men in skirts

I would tend to keep it light. Sounds as if that is what Denise had in mind.

Cavscout - I'd be wary of any man named Denise, not just the one's searching for men in skirts.
McMurdo - I guess it would depend on how well you knew Denise. If she was just joking, then joke back. If she's being brain-dead about it, then there probably isn't much you can do.

I don't know her or at least I don't remember her, she knows my twin brother. The thing is I am getting sick of people who should know better calling it a skirt. The other thing is I do not troll around Facebook looking to insult people I don't really know.

I think a lot of people DO know, but enjoy pushing people's buttons. Most of the time I don't argue the point beyond saying, "I call it a kilt."
The last person to call my kilt a skirt was wearing sagging, ill-fitting jeans with the cuffs rolled up twice, filthy, rotting sneakers, and a dirty, stained printed t-shirt. Hardly the kind of person I'd take fashion advice from. I just rolled my eyes at him and walked away.

I would write: "It's not a skirt, it's a traditional Scottish garment called a 'kilt'; which is also how the Scottish pronounce what is done to those who make that misidentification."
