    Favorable Kilt Comments

I've been wearing my kilt for about a month now. My wife and I are vendors at festivals, (we sell fudge and glazed nuts), so it gives me a good 'excuse' to wear the kilt. I have had many favorable comments about the kilt mostly from women and young people, but this past weekend was by far the most comments and the most touching one. I had one lady (50's I'd guess) who came up to me and said "I'd like to tell you something. It's not every day you see a man in a kilt. I'd just like to thank you for getting back to the roots and not being afraid to honor your heritage." I was very touched with her sincerity. It made wearing my kilt a real pleasure!

    Great story! Good for you!

Wearing the kilt is worthy for it’s own sake, but that "icing on the cake" is truly “shivers down the spine” special.

I've had a few lasses go dreamy on seeing a kilt, and it always makes my day.

Congrats. That is a very nice comment to receive, indeed.

One thing, though: How is selling fudge and glazed nuts an "excuse" to wear a kilt?

Not really an excuse, but a better way for me to justify wearing the kilt as it's in a festival atmosphere. I know, I need to get over it and wear it every day. With this kind of favorable comment, I'll be more inclined to wear it for everyday use. Still somewhat self conscience about it.

I get it. And I understand. I hate that I'm self conscious when wearing the kilt. It's something i can easily get over when out on the town of a weekend. But during the day in a "normal" situation I feel...vulnerable.

My favorite comment was (her exact words) "Wow you look hot! And that's coming from a lesbian."
