Finally wore my Ramsay blue out--plus...

Wore it to a gig on Sunday. Unfortunately, no pics have surfaced yet so I don't have an "action" shot, but here's the kilt:

It's a 5 yard, 16oz woolie from USAK. It was VERY comfortable to be in all day, and it hangs great and has a lovely swish. (Excellent work Rocky and Kelly!)

Anyway, we played three sets and also accompanied some of the festivities at a Bay Area German restaurant's Spring Fest. (Fun gig!) Throughout the day I got LOTS of positive comments about the kilt, but it was at the end when were packing up that the I got the comment of the day...

I'd just finished carrying a load of gear out to my car when a very feisty middle aged woman who had been there all day approached me and stated, "I LOVE your kilt! I mean, you look great! It REALLY suits you and I have to tell you that every time you bent down while packing up your gear I kept hoping for a little gust of wind (chuckles). You know like now I wish I had little mirrors on my shoes (points her foot in my direction and chuckles again)..."

Obviously, she was very "forward," but it cracked me up! I thanked her and went back to hauling gear.

    Kilt on!!
Is é an aois sean óg nua! (Old, it's the new young!)

Our band kilts are Ramsay Blue. Highly underrated tartan.

That is a sharp looking tartan. Love to see gig pics..

I have been wrestiling with the kilted gigs idea. Maybe not with my band but rather when I do my solo stuff. Come next March/April I will be part of a Celtic folk/rock trio and we are going to do it kilted. But as my regular gigs go... I am thisclose to doing it that way.
.... getting used to this whole kilt thing
