    First Kilt Reactions

I checked the UPS website around 4:30 today, and sure enough, my SportKilt had been delivered at 4:00. I probably would have ordered a more traditional or "nicer" kilt, but this being my first one, I didn't want to put huge money into it if I didn't like it. It was frustrating to know that it was sitting on the porch being ignored, but I only had about 20 minutes till quittin time, so that made it tolerable. I bolted as soon as I could and made my way home. When I got here, I grabbed the box from the front porch and ran upstairs to try it on. (Sadly, I have no way of taking halfway decent pics at the moment. That'll have to wait until this weekend).

I must say I was impressed with the look and feel of the kilt. Admittedly, I thought y'all were exaggerating a bit when you raved about how comfortable your kilts were. For anyone that hasn't worn one yet, they are every bit as comfortable as described on this board.

As far as service goes, I'll give props to Seamus at SportKilt. I ordered last Monday, and it arrived this afternoon. I ordered my kilt with pockets, belt loops, and sewn down pleats, which added who knows how much time to my order and he still had it on my doorstep in 8 days total. Also, even though I haven't received them yet, I'm gonna give props to Rocky. I placed an order for a few accessories (belt, hose, flashes) last night around 9:30. At 11:00 I got an email from him saying that my order had shipped. Who on earth is filling orders at 10:30 at night? Apparently Rocky is. So big kudos to Seamus and Rocky for speedy service.

Anyway, I guess the point to all my ramblings is that I'm really pumped about having a kilt. Can't wait for a kilt night or maybe the next highland games.

I've had similar experiences both with Sportkilts and Rocky. Very quick on the order fulfillment. I placed an order with Rocky today for some accessories and within just a couple of hours had a USPS tracking number for the shipment.

I've also had short email conversations with Rocky as late as 10:30 his time. When I asked him what he was doing still working at that hour he said that when it was your business you did what you had to do to get things done.

Unfortunately, it takes Rocky a bit longer to make a kilt... 5 weeks and counting.

Congratulations! My first was from Sport Kilt. It's great. I also have a great one from Rocky. Both guys give excellent service.

    FREEDOM!

The more often you wear it at home the more relaxed you'll be when the time comes to wear it out and about.

Very nice! Sport Kilt has some nice tartans. Which one did you get? The only issue I have with mine is just how light the material is. Watch out for the wind- seriously. Next casual kilt you get has to be a USA Kilt. They are still lightweight, but the material is stiffer, and they are way more wind resistant. I look forward to the pictures. It will be a great first kilt. My son is on his second, having outgrown his first.

Congrats on your first male unbifurcated garment. Now, here's what you do.

    1) Go to your bank.
    2) Withdraw all of your money.
    3) Take it home and divide it into five equal piles.
    4) Send one to Seamus at SportKilt.
    5) Send one to Rocky at USA Kilts.
    6) Send one to Jerry at Stillwater Kilts.
    7) Send one to Steve at Celtic Croft.
    8) Save one for a 100% wool, 16-oz kilt kiltmaker to be named later.

Seriously. Don't delude yourself. This is where all your money will now go. Trust me.
