First Public Kilted Experience
Today I went into town to the Irish Embassy Pub for some corned beef and cabbage and wore my kilt in public for the first time! I was pretty nervous for it being my first time, not knowing what to expect. I accually didn't get that many comments, strange considering how PACKED the place was, but I did get a lot of strange looks. The comments I did get were very nice, (nice kilt! We like your outfit!) But on my way home I saw a man walking alongside the road wearing full ceremonial garb. I would have stopped and talked if there hadn't been so much traffic, but it's nice to know I'm not the only kilter in our little town. Sorry I didn't take any pics, (camera not working) but I wore my Robertson Casual kilt with a Semi-Dress sporran and Red Wing work boots. Happy St. Pat's!

Great!
Sounds like it went well for you. My first outings were two consecutive days of kilt friendly Scottish games. Once I got over my concern about the wind (PV Casual) and how to sit properly, I felt like I was born to it.
Many more good outings to you!

Thank you both! Yes, I intended for my fist time to be at the Grandfather Mountain Games in NC, but I woke up this morning and it just felt right!

Now we need to get you to this side of the mountains for a festival or 3!

I saw one kilted guy in Glasgow last night with a funny leprachaun hat, although pubs are promoting St. Patrick's day, it still is mainly for the catholics of Irish descent in Scotland.

I ventured out alone (WalMart, of all places) in a kilt last night on the way to a party. Once I got past the "Yes, everyone is, in fact, looking at you!" part, I was fine. Got lots of positive comments.
