First time in public

Sorry guys, no pics yet....but I'm working on it.

Bought a black workman's Utilikilt at the last games I went too, and some Bates tactical boots to go with it.

Yesterday I wore it outside for the first time to Lowe's to pick up some work benches and stools for our leather shop. Got some funny looks, but nobody said anything....so far so good.

My wife and I got the benches loaded into my truck and she took off with the buggy back to the store. I had to move her purse to close the tail gate, and it hit me...

I'm in a Lowe's parking lot...in a kilt...holding a purse....
That was a little too much, so I set the purse in the bed of the truck and waited for her to get back and retrieve it...

Guess I do have my limits..

I keep trying to get the chief here at work to ok my wearing it on Friday (casual dress) at work, but I can't get a straight answer from him. Maybe someday.

Sounds like a good experience for a first time. I admit that holding a purse would be a bit much on a first outing. Congratulations and keep it up - it only gets easier.

I have similar recent experience carrying a very purse-like diaper bag that we use for our son. Walk like a man, after all you are in a kilt, not a skirt.

Actually you just have one more outing to make. Head on out to WalMart with the wife, and after that it's guaranteed you can wear the kilt anywhere, anytime.

For extra credit, chat up the ladies back in the fabric and notions area.
