Found a description of how to put on a great kilt.

I found this in The Book of the Club of True Highlanders. I hope it helps.

    Plate 33

    Plate 34

Plate 54. Plate 53 does not correspond so I blieve this is the correct plate.

    WOODSHEAL,

I also found this and thought you would like it. It shows the box pleating and notice the box pleat in the center of the under apron. I guess to provide more fabric when sitting down.

It's interesting that you post this. I gave an impromtu kilt-putting-on demo at a festival this last weekend. We got there late, so everyone else was in garb. I unrolled my kilt, started pleating it, belting it on... and noticed that there were 10 people standing over me, watching! They thought it was all part of what we were doing! Talk about invasion of privacy! Can't a guy get dressed (publicly) in peace?

Thanks, Harold! I've seen that book mentioned on occasion, but never any excerpts....
