    Cool found a local kiltie!

Today Wife took the girls to a birthday party and I had the Boy. We had a good day. I did laundry, worked on my winter boots and took a long walk with the lad. The breeze was a mite strong so I wasn't wearing a kilt. Tried re-blocking my Iraqi RG beret, but I'll need to do it again.
After they got home we took Fish (3 y/o daughter) to the local Meijer. As we were leaving I saw a guy who looked to be wearing shorts in the unkind weather. Wife asked me if he was wearing a skirt. "Huh?" was my erudite response. "A kilt," she replied. Oh. "Go look," she says. I rushed ahead and couldn't tell since he is slender and the garment was black & long (past the knees). Then Wife sent me after him.
I caught up with him. It was indeed a kilt- UK Original- and seemingly new. He agreed that there were few kilties in this area and did not know about online communities like this. I gave him the name of the site and he liked it. Said he is half Scottish. Maybe he'll show up here.
It was weird. I felt awkward like the new kid at school.
Anyway, he knows we're here now.

The more I read here the more anxious I am to expand my kilt inventory and join your ranks; hopefully to be that guy you'll post about: "I saw this guy in a kilt today at, blah, blah, etc.."

    Matt,
For all I know, that UK was the guy's only one.
As long as you're getting out in the kilt, then you'll find others!
Hope your sailing is safe! We still want to see those pics!

My heart jumps too when I see another kiltie out here. It is not too often though.

I've never seen another one in town ever, but just yesterday, I was on my way (non-kilted) to the store and sitting at the corner of my house waiting for the guy in front to pull out I looked at his bumper and saw a Sportkilt decal! Maybe he lurks...

Don't worry Matt. Acquiring kilts is a lot like eating an elephant,...you do it one bite at a time.
