Yeah, no cigar, Ron, but hey, what the heck.

CavScout, why does the Atlanta Pipe Band wear that tartan?

I'm sure I could give it a good home too, if ever you're bored of it!

From Electric Scotland

"The Band proudly wears the distinctive tartan of the 78th Fraser Highlands, and is the only band in the US allowed to do so. Associated with the Fort New Inverness Garrison of the 78th Fraser Highlanders, the Band is pleased to promote our unique Scottish heritage."

Remarkable - and how fortunate this orphan found its way into caring hands!

Well done and much better than moldering away in an old house somewhere...

Matt,

Many years ago (early 80's) I was a member of the 78th Fraser's Highlanders out of Montreal. They were chartered by Lord Lovat and had companies in several places in Canada and California.

This was our unit kilt. I didn't particularly care for the tartan (I've never been overly fond of orange shades), especially as we used about a 10 or 13 oz weight fabric for the kilts, nor the little extra pleats in the front. When I left California for Virginia I sold the kilt to the unit.
