FREE VINTAGE KILT, not a swap, not for sale!

    Hi, gang,

Last year, I eBay.co.uk'ed for a gorgeous tweed Argyll jacket and matching vest, which I had restored (mid-1930s). A Douglas kilt came with it, which is too small for me: 32" waist, 24" drop. Matt Newsome at the Scottish Tartan Museum identified the tartan for me. It has some issues, being 70-75 years old: there are a few very small moth holes in it, 3 or 4; and a small hole in the overapron where the original owner obviously placed his kilt pin. Nothing serious.

I want to pass it on so that one of us XMARKS folk who doesn't have a kilt can "git it on". First one who wants it gets it, and I'll be glad to pay the post.
Nothing is worn under the kilt...everything works just fine!!

That's a very nice and generous offer. I hope someone finds it useful.
.. the kilt had concealed a blaster strapped to one thigh and a knife to the other. He was aware of the present gentle customs against personal weapons, but he felt naked without them. Such customs were nonsense anyhow, foolishment from old women - there was no such thing as "dangerous weapons," only dangerous people.

You're a great guy. Someone will be very fortunate indeed.

Of course, that last time I had a 32" waist, I was about 14! That was forty years ago!

I just sent you an email. I'd love the kilt if the offer still stands.

That is very generous of you. I'm sure the lucky recipient will enjoy it very much.

32" waist, hhmmmm...the smallest I ever remember myself being was a 38 and that was when I was under 200lbs, but the drop fits me being that I am 6'4". 32" waist, 24 " drop, wow, talk about a bean pole. Hope someone can use it.

    What a noble gesture!

I could probably fit into a 32" waist if I wore in on one leg...

Know the receipient will wear it proudly.
