The Frugal Corner - Off Broadway

The Lyric Light Opera presentation of BRIGADOON has finally started and they have gotten rave reviews
    http://www.lyriclightopera.org/

"Very engaging actors with voices that were out of this world; elaborate sets and colorful costumes; energetic dancing; great use of lighting on stage. Talented children also!"
The musical has 45 cast members and a band and cost about $100,000 to produce.
It was fun working with them to provide the kilts. We actually provided kilts in about 6 or 7 different tartans so they could have "Families"
A Dress Macpherson Tartan Kilt was used for the "Good Guy"
We have been promised some pictures and will add them to our site once we receive them.
NOW we have to get a broadway production to use our Kilts

    Very cool Mark!
"A veteran, whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve, is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life." That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it." anon

I would love to have seen it, despite it's dodgy storyline it's one of my favourite Lerner and Loewe's and costumes really help it along.

I've never seen a production of Brigadoon I liked. That's not to say this one wasn't good...I haven't seen it! It would be nice, though, if they put production photos on the website. I would've liked to see your kilts in action.

I've been involved in theatre for awhile. Two shows I'll never do: Grease, and Brigadoon (affectionately called "Brigadon't" among my friends). Even the movie version was kitchy, and every stage version I've seen has been painful. After seeing 4 different productions, I've given up on the show.

Now, Translations by Brian Friel is a WONDERFUL play set in 1933 Donegal about English influence in Ireland. Go see it.
